New Scheduling Feature

Clickable prototype of Scheduling:

Please be mindful that its not fully set up on (See a nutritionist) on this prototype. All the others are fine for testing including add action.

We are improving the existing scheduling feature to make it clearer and more flexible.

The updated flow adds four key improvements:

  1. Flexible daily schedules — users can choose “daily” but exclude certain days, such as weekends.

  2. Fortnightly schedules — actions can repeat every two weeks.

  3. Multi-day actions — users can schedule something across several days, such as a weekend trip.

  4. Different sessions within one recurring action — for example, Run 3× per week with a different distance or session on each day.

The new design also simplifies the scheduling flow and shows a clearer summary before the user saves it.

We have also considered:

  1. Adding Goal selector a way to change what goal the action belongs to (this would be blocked in the goal setting flow but enabled in edit mode)

  2. Remove one-time action and recurring habit screen from the create goal flow and have it all work in one go.

  3. For Values. Keep the non-negotiable and area of growth selector but detach from the scheduling functionality. Selecting should determine the colour (green or greyish green) and after that the scheduling works the same as everywhere else in the app

At the moment we have 3 different scheduling flows. Goal setting, value setting and to-dos/ edit action. It would be easier for the user if it only has one scheduling experience that is consistent throughout the app and separated from the other more reflective work.

We are thinking we should remove the action tracker expand. It seems like a detail and the action tracker may change anyway?

Also: we have spoken to Andrew and his suggestion is not to have a separate button only for tips. We will still have the “turn tooltips back on” toggle button inside the help centre, but we think its best to defer the rest of the tips intentionally.

So lets decide if these tips here in the calendar, come on after the second time the user clicks on the calendar. Or should it be after the 3rd? The idea is that when a user opens an app they will explore and tap all the buttons and want to get an overview quickly. Then they might be ready to take in detailed information about each tab.

Additionally we could make it so the tips only come on after you actually have scheduled an action, i.e set your values and/or your first goal.

So:

1. Should these tips open after the 2nd or 3rd time they have taped calendar?

2. Should tips come on only after you have set your first action (could be anything) or goal (to be more specific)?

3. Please confirm tips and their copy

Community:

Similar to calendar. Should the tips come in right after they tap on the community page for the first, second or third time?

Final thoughts on tips:

After the first walkthrough of the tips, should the tips be turned off by default or should the user have to turn them off in the help center? They would reappear everytime the land on any page again. We could add a toggle or check button inside the tips, perhaps replacing it with the skip button. The argument could be this is overkill but equally it could be a way to keep users guided on how to use the app.

We are working on the help centre screen next and have started putting together some FAQs in your document:
